In Design Project 2- Creativity & Innovation, we're required to do 18 sketches based on a theme chosen out of the 4 themes: I Love HELP University Campaign, No Phone Zone Campaign, Communication Series and Intercultural at HELP.
I've chosen the "Communication Series" as my theme based on the referral art movement I chose earlier: Surrealism by Salvador Dali.
Below are my 18 sketches! ^^
Design 1
The first idea came to my mind is that Surrealism is something that we won't see in real life, and thus, changing those computer technologies into human organs became my first idea.
Design 2
For this sketch, I intended to present the idea that a prisoner is trying to communicate with the world outside the jail.
Design 3
This sketch shows a form of desire. Animals in the jungle hope for a good environment and trying to tell the human to stop destroying their only home.
Design 4
This sketch shows a piece of photo. Photography is able to communicate with people through the camera lenses, convey the message of the picture to audiences.
Design 5
The apple in the sketch indicated the most popular brand for gadgets- the Apple Inc. The apple in the sketch is connected with a earphone, which shows that Apple products are good to be the means of communication to people.
Design 6
The ants in the sketch communicate among themselves to carry the huge timber across the cliff.
Design 7
Design 8
This sketch intended to present the idea that human can communicate via sign language, especially for the silent.
Design 8
The radio in the sketch shows that radio is a means of dissemination which is able to communicate with large listeners including the rats.=D
Design 9
This sketch shows the way the God communicate with human.
Design 10
I wanted to present the idea of humans' internal communication in their minds. In this sketch, I try to present that humans seek for happiness no matter when, and the inner feelings are even more obvious when a person is unhappy.
Design 11
The chess set in the sketch has two generals, they're battling with each other. In the past, chess is a very popular means of communication for people especially the soldiers in China. In modern days, chess becomes a form of interflow with people of different cultures/countries.
Design 12
The couple in the sketch were sleeping and dreamt that they are watching sunset together. This can be said that they have some forms of communication between both of them to the extent that can communicate through dreams.
Design 13
This idea is taken from Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" painting which brings the meaning that time is relative and not fixed. In this sketch, I want to present similar idea: Time doesn't wait for people to react. The leaves fall onto the hand which is holding an hour glass, and then to the ground, tell us that, we hold our time on our hands to live to the fullest.
Design 14
The violin in the sea attracts fishes to it. It shows musical instruments can be a form of interaction and communication with people, and even animals.
Design 15
The sketch shows the crossover between modern music and classic music. It is a form of communication commonly shared by musicians nowadays.
Design 16
Some people share their thoughts and feelings, while they're drinking.
Design 17
Design 18
The pointing of fingers in the sketch shows the "click" people nowadays want to have in meeting with others.
